AMAL MURKUS is a leading pioneering Palestinian singer and actress who has devoted her career to promoting Palestinian music and culture. She has been deemed “one of the most beautiful voices of the 20th century” and “Fayrouz of Palestine.” Murkus has produced and released five albums well as many single releases and collaborations, all inspired by authentic Arab and Palestinian poetry and tunes, world music rhythms and styles, touring the world with her music. ALESSANDRO SGOBBIO is a multi-awarded Italian composer, pianist, producer who has been expanding his own personal vocabulary of compositions, improvisations and spiritual explorations throughout music. After earning Master Degrees at the Oslo Norwegian Music Academy and the Parma Music Conservatory, Alessandro receives the 1st Prize at the “Umbria Jazz” Contest and the 2nd Prize at the Florence “Luca Flores” Competition. He has released 16 albums as a leader / co-leader, touring throughout Europe, China, USA & UK as a soloist, with his Scandinavian ensembles Silent Fires and Hitra, making also unique collaborations with international artists Amal Murkus, Senny Camara, Sarah-Jane Summers, Michele Rabbia, Christophe Marguet, Tilo Bertholo, to name a few. His recent releases have been voted Album-of-the-Year/Month on Jazzism, All About Jazz, Revista Jazz, Il Manifesto and many international outlets. Renown Italian Musica Jazz Magazine included Alessandro in its “TopJazz” Best Talent Polls, describing his music as “an authentic artistic triumph.
